Case Study for Lupus

This case study explores the use of transpersonal hypnotherapy with individuals living with lupus. The purpose is to learn more about the personal and spiritual experiences that may arise while living with the condition.

Participants will complete six 1½-hour hypnotherapy sessions over six weeks. One session will take place each week. Before and after each session, participants will have time to talk about what they would like to explore. They can also reflect on anything they experience during the session.

The sessions may focus on the participant’s relationship with their body and their experience of living with lupus. They may explore changes in daily life or emotions connected to their condition. Some sessions may focus on fatigue, pain, fear, uncertainty, or changes in identity. Participants may also explore personal beliefs about illness and any spiritual questions that have developed through their experiences.

The case study will examine how transpersonal hypnotherapy may offer a space for deeper self-exploration while living with lupus. The study does not seek to determine whether hypnotherapy can treat or cure lupus. Each participant will have their own experience and will be encouraged to explore what feels meaningful to them throughout the six sessions.
